DALTON POMPEY MAKES ROYALS HISTORY

18U CF Dalton Pompey made history by becoming the first Oakville Royals player to be drafted. Pompey was drafted in the 16th round (486 overall) of the 2010 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Dalton is in his third year with the Royals and in the past couple of months Dalton has also been playing for Canadian National Junior Team in Florida and Domenican Republic. His performance with team Canada has been excellent and has brought Pompey a lot of attention from scouts leading to today's historic day for the Royals Baseball Club.

This is not only a great day for the young center fielder but also for all those who play with the club because this event will bring more attention to the club and thus to all players that represent the Royals.

Congratulations to Dalton, his family and the Royals organization.
