ROYALS SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER FROM ONTARIO BLUE JAYS

The Royals came out swinging on Wednesday night at Q Park in Mississauga scoring a total of 19 runs against the 17U Ontario Blue Jays as they won both games by scores of 10-5 and 9-5.
The Royals took care of business early in both games scoring 5 runs in the first inning of the first game and followed that with 9 runs in the first inning of the second game.
The first game was marked by home runs by Jahmal Brooks and Andrew Filler. Both players hit 3 run shots. LF Mitchell Mattarollo had a great game at the plate going 4 for 4 with 4 singles and scoring 2 runs. Also carrying a hot bat in the first game were Jonathan Del Pozo who went 3 for 4 with 2 singles, a double, a run scored and a rbi, and Logan Karse who had 2 singles and scored 2 runs.
Mike Vanderlaan continued to pitch well as he pitched a complete game allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits, four strike outs and 1 walk.
The Royals put the second game of the night away in the first inning when they sent 15 hitters to the plate and scored 9 runs. Jonathan Del Pozo continued to swing a hot bat matching his first game performance with another 3 hits giving him a total of 6 hits for the night. He also scored a run and got an rbi. Lead off hitter Logan Karse hit a single and a double, scored 2 runs and had one rbi.
Phillip Hinton started for the Royals and went 4+ innings allowing five runs on one hit, 10 Ks, 6 walks and 3 hit batters. Chris Ruediger pitched the final 2 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out three batters.
