The Royals Team Blue played the Riverland Community College Devils at Al Lang Stadium in St.Petersburg, Florida in what turned out to be a roller coaster of a game. The Devils, who are rated 6th nationally among division 3 junior colleges, scored 5 runs in the first three innings and had a 5-2 lead after 3 innings. Pinlac had tied the game in the second inning with a two rbi double. In the sixth inning the Canadian team came out swinging and tied the game at 5 with 3 runs on singles by Campos, Darichuk, Hoover and a double by Craigen.
In the top of the 7th inning the Riverland CC pounded out six hits on the way to scoring nine runs and winning the game. Pitching for the Royals were Miller, Mann, Lee-Him and Lahn. Alex Mann had a great outing holding the Devils hitless for 3 1/3 innings while striking out 2 and walking only one.
At the same time at Eckerd College the White Team lost a very close game to Dowling Catholic High School of West Des Moines, IA by a score of 4-2. Kyle Flemington, Cameron Newell and Mitchell Kay pitched well for the Canadians.
