BATS GO COLD AS ROYALS LOSE TO TERRIERS

The Royals drop to 0-2 after a 9-1 loss to the host team on Saturday afternoon. Unlike their first game where the Royals out hit the Toronto Mets 11-5, the Royals hitters managed just two singles by Dalton Pomey and Jeff Park against the Terriers.
The Terriers put the game away in the second inning with six runs on six hits and two Royals errors to take a 7-1 lead with one out in the second. Starting pitcher Chris Ruediger striked out four of the final five batters he faced to complete his three innings of work in which he allowed 7 runs, 5 earned, on 9 hits and a walk.
Daniel Campos took over from Ruediger to start the fourth and went four strong innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks.
Next up are the Ontario T-Birds who Friday night beat the host team 5-1.
