ROYALS LOSE EXTRA INNING THRILLER

The Royals faced the Ontario T-Birds in their second game of the day on Saturday night in Guelph, Ontario. In the bottom of the fourth inning and trailing 2-0 the Royals made it 2-1 when RF Eddie Largy singled in Dalton Pompey who had led off the inning with his second double of the game. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Royals score again to tie the game at 2 when the T-Birds short stop made an error on a ball hit by LF Mitchell Mattarollo allowing Eddie Largy to score.
Despite only having six hits the Royals forced the game into extra innings with very good pitching performances from Ryan Fedrigo and Phil Hinton. Fedrigo started the game and went 3 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on five hits, 4 walks and one K. Hinton took over and was dominant until the 8th inning when after striking out the first two batters, back to back hits gave the T-Birds a 3-2 victory. Hinton pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing only one run on 4 hits, 3 walks and 7 Ks.
