ARSENE PINGUELO SHINES IN LOSS TO TERRIERS

The 18U Royals faced the 18U Terriers last night in Mississauga in what turned out to be a tough outing for the Oakville team.
For the first time this season the Royals had less than 9 hits in a game with only 5. Getting hits for the Royals last night were Daryl Taube, Daniel Campos, Andrew Forrester and Andrew Bolton who had a triple to right field.
Six pitchers took the mound for the Royals allowing 15 hits to go along with 12 walks and 14 strike outs. The star of the game was Royals pitcher Arsene Pinguelo who pitched 2 1/3 innings and striked out 7 of the 9 Terriers he faced to go along with a walk and a ground ball to short. Pinguelo came into the game with 2 outs in the bottom of the second inning with Terriers on second and third and striked out the first 5 batters he faced including 4 in the third inning.
Also having good nights in the mound for the Royals were Alex Mann and Graeme McCarrell. Alex Mann, who is looking better every time he takes the mound, pitched one scoreless inning, allowing only one hit while striking out one batter and walking another. Graeme McCarrell also looked sharp has he also pitched a scoreless inning allowing only one single.
