A LONG COLD NIGHT AT THE BALL PARK

The Royals played the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo last night and as it has been the case in all the Royals games this fall season, it was cold and rainy and the game turned into a 3 1/2 hour slug fest, with the Waterloo team winning 18-11.

Needless to say the pitchers had a very rough evening, in particular, starting pitcher Arsene Pinguelo. Of the seven pitchers who took the mound for the Royals only Thomas Rincon and Daniel Campos had good outings. Rincon relieved Pinguelo and went 2 1/3 innings allowing only one run. Campos pitched a scorless final inning.

For the second game in a row the Royals scored more than 10 runs scoring 11 runs on 11 hits. Kyle Westwater lead the way with 3 hits and 2 rbi. Daryl Taube continued to hit for extra bases with a double. Andrew Bolton, Joshua Lee-Him, Dolan Dunigan, Matthew McCue, Kaleb Leff, Andrew Forrester and Daniel Campos all had singles.

Kaleb Leff had 2 rbi giving him 6 for the season. Joshua Lee-Him, Dolan Dunigan, Matthew McCue and Jonathan Del Pozo all had one rbi.

The 18U Royals will play the Royals 17U this weekend in Oakville.
